Two-factor authentication protects your account by requiring a one-time code in addition to your password when you log in.
What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step to your login. Even if someone has your password, they cannot access your account without the one-time code from your authenticator app.
2FA uses time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), which generate a new six-digit code every 30 seconds on your phone. Your authenticator app never connects to the internet, so the codes are yours alone.
Which authenticator apps work with Tourwriter?
You can use any authenticator app that supports TOTP. Popular choices include:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
- 1Password
- Other TOTP-compatible password managers
Download your chosen app to your phone before you start.
