This guide provides a foundational overview of using Zoho Analytics with Tour Writer. Whether you are tracking sales performance or managing supplier payments, Zoho Analytics allows you to turn raw data into actionable insights.
Before building reports, keep these three integration rules in mind:
One-Way Sync: Data flows from Tour Writer to Zoho Analytics once every 24 hours.
Data Safety: Changes made in Zoho Analytics do not sync back to Tour Writer. You can experiment with your data without risking your original booking records.
User Access: You generally only need one administrative login. Reports can be shared with team members via secure links or scheduled email exports.
The left-hand sidebar is your primary navigation menu:
Reports: Access your tables, charts, and custom visualizations.
Data: View the "raw" data tables synced from Tour Writer (the building blocks of your reports).
Dashboards: View high-level summaries that combine multiple reports into one screen.
Pro Tip: Disable "Viewer" Mode
If you cannot see the "Edit Design" or "Save" buttons, check the top-right corner. Ensure the Viewer toggle is turned OFF to enable administrative and design features.
Tour Writer includes a library of standard reports designed for the travel industry. To customize one:
Open a standard report (e.g., Supplier Details).
Click the Three Dots (...) menu and select Save As.
Note: Always work on a copy to preserve the original template.
Click Edit Design to customize:
Columns: Drag and drop fields to add or remove information.
Groupings: Use "Group by Block" to organize data by Supplier or Designer.
Click Click here to generate to preview your changes.
When you need a specific view not covered by templates, you can build a new report:
Use the Data Table Cheat Sheet to find where your required fields live. Common tables include:
Minimum Contacts Detail: Use this for supplier contact info and emails.
Supplier Payment Detail: Use this for balances, due dates, and accounting.
Tabular View: Best for detailed lists (e.g., a list of all departures next month).
Summary View: Best for grouping totals (e.g., total sales grouped by Travel Designer).
Chart View: Best for visual trends (e.g., a bar chart of monthly revenue).
To make your reports manageable, use the two types of filters:
| Filter Type | Function | Use Case |
| Filters | "Pre-filters" that narrow down the entire data set. | Only showing data for the 2024 Financial Year. |
| User Filters | Dynamic dropdowns available in the "View" mode. | Allowing a user to quickly pick a specific Supplier from a list. |
You can distribute your findings without giving everyone full access to Zoho:
Exporting: Click the Export icon to download data as Excel, PDF, or CSV.
Sharing: Use the Share button to generate a private link or to schedule an automated email of the report to your manager every Monday morning.
To sharpen your skills, try these three exercises:
The "Save As" Exercise: Duplicate the Itinerary Gross Amount Chart and try changing the grouping from "Designer" to "Country."
The Filter Exercise: Add a "User Filter" for Start Date so you can toggle between different months of travel.
The Custom Exercise: Create a simple Tabular View using the Minimum Contacts Detail table to list all suppliers and their primary email addresses.
