Vamoos integration for Tourwriter

Tourwriter allows you to send your itinerary to the Vamoos Travel App. The integration is currently in BETA testing for customers with a current Vamoos account. For more details contact support or your customer success executive.

Setting up the Vamoos integration

A User with Admin permissions can connect their Tourwriter organisation to their Vamoos account. You will require your Vamoos API key. Details to find this are below.
  1. In Tourwriter, click Organisation in the sidebar
  2. Go to the Integrations tab
  3. Click Connect next to the Vamoos integration option
  4. Follow the prompts to add your API key.
  5. Click Connect to authorise and connect your account.
  6. Once successfully connected the Vamoos account and user email address will appear next to the Vamoos logo on the integrations tab and the Disconnect button will appear
Note: If the Connect button is inactive (light grey in colour) then your Organisation needs to be upgraded. Talk with your customer success executive to upgrade.

Find your Vamoos API key

The Vamoos API documentation provides more detailed information however the below should provide you with enough detail to find your API key.
  1. Log in to the Vamoos Operator Portal with your credentials. https://portal.vamoos.com/ 
  2. Click the user icon (typically in the top-right corner of the screen) and select Account settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. On the Account Settings page, look for and click the orange button that says Generate API Key.
  4. Copy the generated API key. It will be displayed once created, and you will use it as the X-User-Access-Token header in your API requests.

Send to Vamoos function

Once the Vamoos integration is connected the Send to Vamoos option becomes active when sharing an itinerary. To send an itinerary to Vamoos:
  1. Open an itinerary and navigate to the Share settings dialog by clicking the Share button.
  2. Select the Vamoos option from the list to open the Send this itinerary to Vamoos dialog.
  3. Choose to Exclude/Include the Descriptions.
    Descriptions: Includes or Excludes the Descriptions when sending to Vamoos.
  4. Click Send.
  5. Click View itinerary to open the Itinerary in Vamoos or select Close, to close the dialog.

Sending to Vamoos again

Sending a Tourwriter to Vamoos again replaces the previous Vamoos itinerary and creates a new version using the same Vamoos URL.
  1. Open an itinerary and navigate to the Share settings dialog by clicking the Share button.
  2. Select the Vamoos option from the list to open the Send this itinerary to Vamoos dialog.
  3. Choose to Exclude/Include the Descriptions.
    Descriptions: Includes or Excludes the Descriptions when sending to Vamoos.
  4. Click Update.
  5. Click View itinerary to open the Itinerary in Vamoos or select Close, to close the dialog.

Disconnecting your Vamoos integration

A User with Admin permissions can disconnect their Tourwriter organisation from their Vamoos account. 
  1. In Tourwriter, click Organisation in the sidebar.
  2. Go to the Integrations tab.
  3. Click Disconnect button next to the Vamoos integration option.
  4. Once successfully disconnected a green success banner will temporarily appear and the Connect button will reappear.

  • How to I know the Vamoos integration is active?
    • On the Integrations page the grey Connect button will instead be a red Disconnect button
    • When clicking Share in an itinerary the Vamoos option is active
  • Can I connect multiple Vamoos accounts to Tourwriter?
    • No. Only one account can be connected however this can be used by multiple user accounts.
