AI assistant for writing supplier descriptions

AI assistant for writing supplier descriptions

The AI assistant helps you write and refine supplier, product, and resource descriptions directly inside Tourwriter. You give it a prompt, it generates content, and you decide whether to keep it.

The feature is in beta. Content generated using AI may contain errors or unintended changes in meaning. Review it before saving.

Where the AI assistant appears

The AI assistant button appears in the rich text toolbar on these fields:
  1. Suppliers > Description
  2. Products > Description
  3. Resources > Description
If you do not see the AI assist button, the feature may not be enabled for your organisation. Contact your account manager or Tourwriter support to find out more.

How to use the AI assistant

1. Open the description field
Navigate to a supplier, product, or resource and open the Description tab. The AI assist button appears in the top-right corner of the rich text toolbar.

2. Click AI assist
The AI assistant dialog opens. You will see:

  1. A prompt input at the top, with the placeholder text "In a sentence or two, describe how you would like the AI to edit the text"
  2. Your Original text on the left
  3. An AI response panel on the right
  4. A Generate button next to the prompt input (inactive until you enter a prompt)
  5. A Save button at the bottom right (inactive until a response is generated)
3. Enter a prompt
Type a description of what you want the AI to write or change. The Generate button activates once you start typing.
Some prompts to get you started:
  1. "Write a brief 2-paragraph supplier description for Air New Zealand that appeals to the luxury market"
  2. "Write a brief 2-paragraph product description for a Two-Bedroom Beachfront Suite at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa for a luxury audience"
  3. "Take the content in the original text field and rewrite it in 2 paragraphs for a luxury audience"
4. Click Generate
A "Generating content..." indicator appears while the AI processes your request. Once complete, the generated content appears in the AI response panel on the right.

A note below the response reads: "Content generated using AI may contain errors or unintended changes in meaning. Please review before use."

5. Review the response
Read the generated content carefully. If it looks right, click Save to apply it to the description field. If not, update your prompt and generate again.

6. Save or cancel

  1. Click Save to replace the description field content with the AI response.
  2. Click Cancel to close the dialog without making any changes.

If something goes wrong

If the AI request fails, a red error banner appears in the dialog with the message: "Something went wrong while processing your content. Your original text has not been changed. Please try again." Close the dialog and try again. If the problem persists, contact Tourwriter support.
